3 days comparison Palm Pre, iPhone 3G and Samsung Android

Some Updates to my unboxing article regarding performance and usabilty ranking of the 3 popular smartphone devices. I have all three devices with me on my business trip here in sweden and tried to use them all in the same manner: Writing and recveiving emails, browsing news und using some apps. I was very surprised by certain facts:

  • The Palm Pre is the only device that is still above 65% after 3 days, even with Wifi enabled all the time
  • Even the iPhone needed some powers after 2 days of these light usage (without push or any heavy gaming etc.)
  • The usability of the Palm Pre is after some days still amazing and gets better and better with the “learned” gestures
  • The Syndicate approach ease mail, contact and calendar experience big time

Usability Ranking:
1) Palm Pre
2) iPhone
3) Android

Battery:
1) Palm Pre
2) iPhone
3) Android

Still I am heavily missing a real Facebook app and a Skype application on he Palm Pre so that I could finally really state that the Palm Pre is my new No1 – for now it is still a little bit behind the iPhone with its huge amount of apps (85k).
